Camino Primitivo 814

I started this blog after researching the culture and history of El Camino Primitivo for a project on which I am currently working. This Camino route to Santiago de Compostela is significant culturally and historically, yet historical documentation in the English language is not easy to find.

The intent of this blog then is:

  • To be a collecting place for Camino Primitivo materials that I do uncover,
  • To share links, photos, and resources with others like you who are interested in learning more about this “road less traveled” on the Camino Primitivo and
  • To be a sort of forum where we can all make comments and add to the body of knowledge.

For those reasons, I covet your comments and additions. I’m currently just scratching the surface — as we would say in the US — and so hope that you will lead me to sources, gently nudge me when I am off course and point me in the right direction.

This research thing is like walking the Camino itself. I’m setting out on an adventure without really knowing what I will find around the next bend in the road, I need others’ support along the way and I pray for trust and patient.

Please come along with me, Stacey Wittig

P.S. What does the ‘814’ in the blog’s name symbolize, you may ask. I’ll leave the answer to that question for my next blog post, “What’s the significance of ‘814’ in this blog’s title?
